Launched a Website, Got Some Stuff Done
I was in a bit of a daze today. I went to bed too late and got up a little too early. I’m not real good about laying in bed and just relaxing. Once my eyes open, I’m ready to get going. I jumped out of bed this morning. I almost started my day without meditating. I was anxious, but those are the days that I know I need to meditate the most. Friction there will only leak into other areas of my day and life. It felt good to reign that in and get some time on the pillow.
A few friends have thrown some labels on me: anxious, on the spectrum, ADD, ADHD, OCPD, OCD. Maybe a therapist will tell me one day that none or some of these apply to me. I’m not too concerned about it. Whatever spectrum I’m on I’m happy and enjoy most of my days most of the time. These days, anyway. I didn’t always. But I’ll save those stories for another day.
Weekends are a domestic day for me, so I try to get a bunch of stuff done around the house. But I’m currently obsessed with learning JavaScript. I’m using a combination of resources for reference but currently working my way through Exercism’s JavaScript Track. It’s really fun. Even if you aren’t really into programming, if you like math and puzzles, you may want to give it a try. Also, if you like math and puzzles, especially logic puzzles, you’ll probably dig programming.
I’ve been building websites for years, so I’ve played with JavaScript a bit, but my recent dive into 11ty has made me realize how little I know. Plus, it’s fun. I’m having more fun with web development than I have in a long time. This website is built in 11ty. I also launched [Farm to Table Network] this weekend. I have a ton of work to do on it, but I’m excited to get it live. It’s mostly a website for me to track locally and ethically sourced food and agricultural products in the area.
For being in a daze, it was a pretty good day.
